Summertime Madness

I am sorry to say the Quebecoise Sarah Sophie will be leaving this hemisphere soon.

And we were having so much fun too! I myself will be returning to Munich the 4th of July, so this traineeship
is slowly coming to an end. Sarah had rented a car for going to visit Paris, which did not work out - there appears to be a strike with public transportation inside the city - Merde!

So we thought we'd make the most of it. We went to visit the Parc de Letang in Angers.
After 10 minutes of dithering, we decided to turn that frigging GPS off. So annoying - what do you have a GPS for when it isnt even able to find the adress you are looking for??

After some driving around we asked an (admittedly very hot looking) older guy on a bike. He flashed us a George Clooney like grin and pointed towards some trees just a stonesthrow away were you could barely make out an entrance. "C'est juste la bas!"

Amazingly we had once more managed to reach our destination by chance or sheer luck or even an inborn GPS?
Anyway, Sarah and I agreed to meet at the entrance in half an hour. As I had just eaten my yummy meal of

fresh salmon and cherry tomatoe pasta in lemon-vinegar sauce
I didnt feel up to going for a jog. I just roamed around the parc, walked up some stairways, took a detour through some trees and I have to say - That place was magnificently designed! You could just about discover anything round the bend! I found a miniature waterfall, a big chunk of an old stone wall, a pool and even a herd of mountain goats behind a fence. (who regarded me warily as I took some photos of the cute kids going "Awww".

Have now looked at pictures of baby goats...The cuteness of it, Aaargh!

...is it tap dancing?

These are some scenes I discovered:

Good Times, Conversations

feat. The Preatures - Take a Card

Ahhh~ I had heaps and heaps of fun today!!!
I went to town again and discovered some really nice places♥  and of course nice things: at the cool teashop, where the clerk was wearing a darkgreen yukata robe and a japanese store where they had Pocky & other stuff...

I am so happy!

as I am in need of presents for all my girlfriends in Germany, I bought some lotion at the local
click >> Yves Rocher : I bought two different lotions to try out - Muguet/Lily of the Valley and Lila/Lilac which are both scents I love.

Despite looking at many blogs I have yet to find a good Lily of the Valley perfume. The Yves Rocher one made my nose burn, so I hope I dont get any rashes from the lotion...it is a poisonous plant after all...☠
dum da dum dum!

Post Scriptum: learned about the word "Weeabo" today.
I am not one of them, luckily, because I enjoy every culture there is, but I am still proud of being british/german.

I would be terrified to be on the same level as Venus Palermo..brrr

Vive la France!

A big step and a fresh start

For quite a while I have wanted to go to France to improve my français.
Now it has finally come true! I have found a place to work in the west of France, not too far away from Nantes. When I hear about the city, I immediately think of the song Nantes by the wonderful group Beirut. Listen to it below:

What I have discovered so far:

Western France is the land of wristwatches,a place where women are fit and dress well - they arent all beautiful, but their taste in clothing makes them easy on the eyes. (not all of them, obviously)
It is also the land of salt, and as a matter of fact, salted butter. A country of small boutiques and cute slate roofed houses, where talking enthusiastically and frequently and giving out kisses to friends is perfectly ordinary.

There are apple orchards, vineyards and greenhouses. Rosmary grows all around and pines encircle the sky when you look up. People eat a lot of cheese and like to drink wine with a proper meal - the wine is a lot more acidic and stronger than what I`m used to, the cheeses more pungent, sharper, more flavourful. I have grown to like this goût - this flavour.

The only thing I dislike and cannot get used to is the amount of chlorine in the tap water. It tastes bad and doesn`t agree with my skin at all. I know there are countries where you cant drink the tap water at all, but I was raised in Bavaria and the quality there seems like a sparkling mountain spring in comparison X3

I am on the way of discovering french chansons - so far I`ve bought one CD by Miossec which is pretty good - a smoky voice and clicking, sharp lyrics accompanied by a guitar. What I didn`t know was that Brigitte Bardot had been a singer as well. Daft Punk is a french band. And currently my roommate Célia
is into a band called `Shaka Ponk`

Reminiscing

today's brekkie Russian porridge (surprisingly good), red currants & Lewycka's  Two Caravans

I'm moving to my boyfriends place for the time i'm still in Germie-land.
Hoping I can concentrate more on my stuff and also....X3..
Let's just say I'm looking forward to making good use of the bed...

Because I felt like drawing, I started on a new canvas. My all time inspiration:   painter Alexej Jawlensky
I just love expressionism.

  'Portrait of Katia'

Isn't it beautiful? The colours are so nice

Right now there's a lot of wind blowing around the city, it feels like the ocean, holiday, freshness...
So : On with the bikini & soak some sun! And of course, Florence & the Machine !!!
